A huge thankyou to all the members ( and partners) involved in the successful winter exhibition. Once again SAG were able to demonstrate the wealth and diversity of art created by it's members. Over Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November, a large and comprehensive display of art work was available for viewing and sales. A steady stream of visitors...

Saturday 14th October saw the return of artist David Brevitt, following on from his inspiring demonstration a short while ago. David provided opportunity to follow in his footsteps and create a portrait using a reliable method that he has tried and tested over many years.

September 26th SAG welcomed ex-member David Brevitt . David is an established portrait painter working in oils. Today he demonstrated his skills and techniques in painting a portrait of Pep Guardiola.

SAG welcomed a new model today, Simon. Simon's distinctive appearance and style provided a very interesting subject for today's model sketch/paint. Figure and portrait painting can pose many difficulties, but it was greeted by a large number of members keen to face the challenge.

On Tuesday 22nd August members met at the beautiful Sugnall Walled Gardens to paint, sketch, and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. We were treated to a beautiful bit of sunshine, and could choose from a range of subjects and views to paint. Sunflowers, Dhalias and Snapdragons were in full bloom and the apple trees were full of rosy fruit.

Seven Springs

On August 8th members were invited to attend a sketching session at Seven Springs on Cannock Chase.

Tuesday 25th 's visit to Aston Marina stayed mostly dry for us , though it was quite a breezy day! Members chose to draw and paint a variety of subjects including the many boats, scenic views across the water, flora and fauna. On a very wet Tuesday 11th July, a hardy group of members met at the Oak Tree Rural Project in Hilderstone. Despite the heavy rain, a few of the members found a dry spot in the polytunnel with views of the sturdy tomato plants, while others enjoyed a cuppa in the tearooms while drawing the table tops or views through the windows. ...

One of our members , Sandra, was invited to display some of her work at the Great Haywood Local History and Art Exhibition. Sandra has produced several pieces of work featuring local views and landmarks. The event was attended by the mayor of Stafford.
