Masking Fluid A Personal Review by Carole

24/03/2021

Overall for me the S.A.A Masking fluid pen out performs the other two on speed for drying, ease of application, no brushes or tools to clean and easy to remove.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Happy painting!

1. S.A.A. BLUE MASKING LIQUID

Apply with brush, rubber blender, cocktail stick etc.

Colour makes it easy to see where you are putting it.

Takes a while to dry and brushes need cleaning immediately after use

In my experience, sometimes I cannot remove all the masking fluid. If I rub too hard it removes surface of paper.

2. PEBEO MARKER

Apply like a felt tip pen.

Difficult to see where you are putting it as it is white. Not suitable for larger areas.

Very accurate for small marks/areas. Dries very quickly.

Easy to carry.

Pebeo also do a bullet tip as well as the fine tip, as demonstrated, but couldn't test it as I don't have one.

I do know the Pebeo pens are a very competitive price from The Skipton Art Shop in comparison to the S.A.A and Ebay

The Art Shop Skipton is on the links page...

3. S.A.A MASKING FLUID MARKER

Apply like a larger felt tip pen. This has a "bullet" type end. White fluid so quite difficult to see.

Very good coverage and dries quickly

Easy to remove even on copier paper, see diagram
